On Friday, 13th March 2026, the Umbrella Association of NRM Activity-Based Mobilizers, coordinated by the State House Local Content Unit, organized a vibrant victory celebration for H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni following his 71% win in the 15th January 2026 Presidential elections. The celebration, named Yoga Yoga Jajja (#YogaYogaJajja), brought together leaders, supporters, and citizens to mark this historic occasion.
During the event, President Museveni expressed gratitude for the nation’s successes, saying:
“I thank God for this victory and for all the victories He has given us over the last 55 years since 1971. We have been in the struggles for a long time, and God has always granted us success.”
The President used the occasion to emphasize the importance of prioritizing citizens’ welfare. He encouraged Members of Parliament to support the national budget by focusing on the livelihoods of the people rather than increasing salaries or creating new districts. He stressed the need to implement the Parish Development Model (PDM) and wealth funds, and urged the NRM Secretariat to sensitize citizens about programs that alleviate poverty.
President Museveni also called on all Ugandans above 18 years to actively participate in the Parish Development Model by electing committees, accessing available funds, and ensuring proper follow-up. He reminded the public of the importance of entering the money economy, particularly the remaining 30% of Ugandans still outside it.
In a strong message against corruption, the President announced that citizens should report district officials who solicit bribes from government job applicants directly to Hajjat Aminah Mukalazi’s office at the State House Local Content Unit. This move reinforces the commitment of the government to protect citizens and ensure integrity in public service.
The President concluded the event with warm appreciation to the citizens:
“Mwebare nnyo Bazzukulu.”
The State House Local Content Unit remains committed to supporting citizens (East Africans) in accessing government programs, monitoring compliance to the effective implementation of Local Content Policies, Guidelines and Regulations, and promoting transparency across all levels of public service.
