Kampala, 22 September 2026 — The Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Economic Development (Privatisation & Investment) and Special Presidential Assistant for Local Content & Special Duties, Hon. Hajjat Aminah Mukalazi, has met with a delegation from DG Paint Ltd, led by the company’s Director, Mr. Goswami D. Giri, to discuss the company’s proposed investment in Uganda.
DG Paint Ltd proposes to establish a USD 25 million fully integrated paint manufacturing plant in Uganda, with an initial production capacity of 7,800 metric tonnes in the first year, expected to increase to 13,000 metric tonnes by the fifth year.
The proposed plant will manufacture a range of products, including emulsion paints, gloss paints, texture coatings, industrial paints and primers.

The investment is expected to create approximately 200 direct and 2,000 indirect jobs, while contributing to local manufacturing and skills transfer in paint technology.
During the meeting, Hon. Hajjat Aminah appreciated DG Paint Ltd for choosing Uganda as its investment destination and encouraged the company to ensure timely implementation of the proposed project.

She also emphasised the importance of proper utilisation of any government land that may be provided for investment, in accordance with applicable requirements.
The meeting was also attended by the Uganda Investment Authority Director General, Mr. Robert Mukiza.
The engagement is part of ongoing efforts to facilitate productive investments that expand local manufacturing, create employment opportunities and strengthen skills and participation in Uganda’s economy.
