State House Local Content Unit

Our mandate is to monitor and enforce compliance with Uganda’s local content policies, regulations and guidelines while safeguarding fairness in access to opportunities.

At Local Content Unit, our success is driven by how we make good use of our own locally generated resources. Governments often implement local content policies (LCPs) to ensure that foreign investors and companies contribute to domestic economic growth through three major ways.

Our strategic initiatives focused on enhancing locals’ (East Africans) participation in the economy through targeted programs and partnerships

Capacity Building Programs

Monitoring and enforcing the implementation of training programmes aimed at upskilling East Africans, while promoting knowledge transfer to local populations through strategic partnerships.

Supplier Development

Supporting local businesses to meet international standards and participate effectively in major projects and supply chains.

Stakeholder Engagement

Building partnerships between government, private sector, and civil society to create sustainable economic opportunities for the locals (East Africans).
