President Museveni Inaugurates New Factories at Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park

On 29th August 2025, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda, visited the Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park to officially inaugurate newly established factories and lay the foundation stone for others soon to commence operations.

The President commended Mr. Paul Zhang and his team for their dedication in advancing industrial development in Uganda, assuring them of his full support in their continued investment efforts.

In his remarks, President Museveni emphasized that a lack of vision is one of the primary causes of stagnation in countries. From the early days of the NRM, the guiding vision has been clear—to create wealth through four critical sectors: commercial agriculture, industry, services, and ICT.

He highlighted that industries and services are the leading global job creators, making them essential drivers of Uganda’s modernization and transformation journey.

The President was accompanied by Hajjat Aminah Mukalazi, Special Presidential Assistant at the State House Local Content Unit, which plays a key role in monitoring compliance with local content policies, regulations, and guidelines. The Unit ensures that Ugandans and East Africans actively participate in economic activities, including large-scale projects, procurement opportunities, and skills and knowledge transfer.

The visit reaffirmed government’s commitment to fostering industrial growth, promoting local content, and ensuring that East Africans benefit directly from investment projects across the country.
