A delegation of investors from Qatar has expressed strong interest in expanding their investments in Uganda, citing the country’s growing opportunities and favourable business environment.
Hon. Hajjat Aminah Mukalazi, Minister of State for Privatization and Investment, welcomed the investors and reaffirmed Government’s commitment to supporting and facilitating their investment journey.
She appreciated the investors for choosing Uganda as an investment destination and emphasised the importance of investments that promote industrial growth, job creation and economic activity.
The investors currently operate about four factories in Uganda and are planning to expand to as many as ten factories, according to H.E. Amb. Dr. Rashid Yahya Ssemuddu, who attended the engagement.

Hajji Moses Kagwa, Director of Economic Affairs at MoFPED, also reaffirmed Government’s commitment to creating a conducive investment environment and addressing challenges faced by investors.
As a gesture of goodwill, Hon. Mukalazi presented the delegation with a copy of Moments With Mzee, authored by Senior Presidential Photographer Abu Mwesigwa.
The planned expansion reflects growing investor confidence in Uganda and presents opportunities for increased industrialisation, employment and sustainable economic growth.
