CGGC Commended for Local Content Contribution and Job Creation in Uganda

The Head of the State House Local Content Unit (SHLCU), SPA Hajjat Aminah Mukalazi, this evening held a meeting with a delegation from China Gezhouba Construction Company Ltd (CGGC), led by Deputy General Manager Mr. Zhang Chao.

During the engagement at the Unit offices, discussions highlighted the company’s ongoing projects in infrastructure and energy development, which remain key sectors in Uganda’s economic transformation agenda.

SPA Hajjat Aminah Mukalazi commended CGGC for its continued contribution to local content development, particularly through the creation of employment opportunities for Locals (East Africans) and its commitment to sourcing raw materials locally.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of strengthening partnerships with international investors to enhance skills transfer, promote local participation, and support sustainable development across priority sectors.

The State House Local Content Unit continues to engage key stakeholders to ensure that investment projects translate into meaningful benefits for East Africans through job creation and value addition.
